about us

The Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH) is an international professional organization started in 2003. It is an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization, whose diverse membership is committed to the Health At Every Size® (HAES®) Principles.

The HAES movement is a continuously evolving alternative to the weight-centered approach to treating clients and patients of all sizes. It is also a movement working to promote size acceptance, end weight discrimination, and lessen the cultural obsession with weight loss and thinness.  You can learn more about ASDAH and the Health At Every Size approach on our website at www.sizediversityandhealth.org

  1. “Why We Get Fat” by Gary Taubes substitutes the problematic “calories in/calories out” model, for “calories-to-fat/calories-to-energy” model — seems closer to reality. What do you say? – Elizabeth

  2. Here is a great article/podcast of how much added sugar is really out there – the author really has a great way of expressing what ASDAH is trying to say: http://www.npr.org/2013/01/11/169144853/the-fallacies-of-fat
